Beyond Traditional Investments (pain). Traditional asset management has long favored the 60/40 model – a formulaic approach centering on public stocks and bonds. For too long, private assets, brimming with untapped potential and promise, remained the privilege of billion-dollar institutions, their allure fenced off by regulatory barricades. This left independent investment advisors and individual investors navigating the crowded lanes of public markets, with their portfolios untouched by the diversifying grace of real estate, venture capital, and private credit.

Understanding. For most, significant wealth doesn’t occur from investing in public markets; wealth occurs via passive fixed-income and/or early bets on successful new companies and new technologies.

Breaking Boundaries: Alternative Assets (remedy). CAAM heralds a new age of investing, pioneering the inclusion of private assets into mainstream portfolios. We strive to democratize access to the multitude of opportunities nestled within the private sector.

History (through-line). Lawrence Ford initially began with a wealth management investment advisory firm (Conscious Capital Wealth Management LLC), which has spun off an alternative asset management service (CAAM LLC). Along the way, Lawrence launched Future Capital as a working group for the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which works in partnership with Pvblic Foundation for the launch of the Family Offices for Sustainable Development. This effort is spinning-off Conscious Winery as a non-profit SDG “seed” investment engine for its endowment and as an opportunity identifier for CAAM. Future Capital is also working to formulate Scious as a for-profit investment firm specializing in the Web3 space that’s committed to servicing CAAM deals via the tokenization of assets for greater liquidity, transparency, and democratization.
